Simon Quick

Born in Edinburgh, Simon Quick graduated with a degree in Furniture Design from Loughborough College of Art and Design where he was awarded with an RSA Design Bursary including a industry work placement to Scandinavia. Following employment with a design consultancy in the UK, a move to Italy and design studio experience in Milan offered an introduction to the European design scene. Collaborating with other designers within the field, he then started working as a model maker helping bring to market a series of hand held products and chairs for italian and spanish companies. Currently based in London, where alongside product development, he has also begun to operate in the interior design sector. In working between the disciplines, although the demands are different, the design process is similar: a pragmatic approach to problem solving together with the desire to make an emotional connection with the user through stimulating layouts and original product typologies.
