Villa Emma

Villa Emma is a summer retreat located in Costa Smeralda, Italy. Winner of World Architecture News Award "House of the Year" in 2019, BIG SEE Architecture Award and DNA Paris Architecture Award in 2021. The 800 square meter project by Mario Mazzer Architects blends the rigor of Stazzu, the local rural buildings, with the principles of the modern open-space house. This house is in perfect harmony with the sky and the surrounding land. Hand-cut granite stones are immersed in nature, while large windows reflect the sky.
The interior decor is characterized by pure lines and mostly dark but warm tones of the vertical elements to highlight the pitched roof. Preso handle by Mario Mazzer was chosen in satin bronze finish to enhance all the doors in the villa.
